The ABCs of Japanese Knitting Pattern | ||
Kana is phonetic characters in Japan. There are two kinds of kana, hiragana and katakana. In the table below, the left and black characters are hiragana, and the right and blue characters are katakana. Both characters mean the same sounds. Hiragana is the most commonly used characters while katakana is used for foreign words. With kana, you can represent Japanese sounds perfectly. However, there is the third ideographic characters Kanji. Japanese text contain these three characters.
